My notes: This is an Excellent show by Blood Sweat and Tears from 1977 @ The Bottom line ib New York City. Tenth anniversary live performance on November 8, 1977, at The Bottom Line in New York City. Blood, Sweat, & Tears, aka BS&T, was the very first act to appear on King Biscuit in 1973, and would return several times. This show was special because it happened 18 months after lead vocalist David Clayton-Thomas rejoined the popular jazz-rock-pop band. Originally broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour. The band was hot this night. If you like Bood Sweat and Tears this is the show for you do not miss this one, as it is an excelent show

As a curtain raiser to the release of her greatest hits package, The Annie Lennox Collection 
(March 9), this Scottish singer/musician, backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, put on quite a show at St Luke’s in London which was broadcast on TV.

Looking like she’s fully recovered from her back injury (Lennox underwent a spinal surgery in 2008), the singer is fighting fit and with a voice to match. Unlike the iconic figure she conjured up in her music videos - sometimes with extraordinary make-up and costumes, here, she simply let her songs and her voice take over.

While it is the classic hit songs such as No More I Love You’s, Here Comes The Rain Again and Sweet Dreams which fans come to hear, it is no surprise the political activist did a “quiet” version of Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves (a modern feminist anthem with Aretha Franklin). Listening to this, it is not difficult to see why Lennox has been dubbed “The Greatest White Soul Singer Alive.” Then there is Ash’s Shining Light, the new song on the compilation.

A partisan review at eurythmics.me.uk stated: “It felt like Annie was performing in our living rooms, the acoustics were incredible, the orchestra and Annie’s band creating the most incredible sound, and Annie’s vocals somehow managing to soar over them all.”

I received this in a trade many years ago, late 80's early 90's, it's a SBD recording but not a great one. There is a lot of tape hiss due to the high generation. But since there is very little early Humble Pie,
this show is a favorite of mine.
The story goes on this one that it was recorded by the Dutch Radio Station VPRO during a festival like concert that included Deep Purple and Brian Auger's Trinity and several other bands. All the bands were recorded but the show was never broadcast as a complete concert in any way just as individual songs. According to The Highway Star, Deep Purple's Website, the radio station still has the original tapes and was going to release them on there own label but they never did. So if anybody that works at VPRO is reading this, please do me and everyone else a favor, make a copy of this from the Master Reel and post it somewhere for all to have instead of letting it sit and rot somewhere where no one gets to listen to it.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys this!

Dates on the attached artwork are wrong, as can be confirmed by checking the track list, which includes tracks from On To Victory.

Tracks 1-8 were recorded in Los Angeles 1981, tracks 9-12 at the Spectrum in Philadelphia 1975.

Also, the lineup for the 1981 shows is not the classic Clem Clempson lineup of the 1975 show (as the artwork infers). In 1981, the band was Steve Marriott/Jerry Shirley/Bobby Tench/Booty Jones.
