This 5 CD set and the 4 CD 'The Complete Woodstock Rehearsals', are my favourite Stones boots. Considering Keith's ongoing legal battles over the Toronto bust with the possibility of a lengthy jail term still very real, this is a remarkable testament to the work put in by the Stones.

The songs presented here extend the jams and feature some great playing from Keith and Ronnie. The music is inspired and grooving throughout.
Artwork included.

Enjoy. Or not.

Matching Mole - Live BBC 1972

Back From The Dead...Originally posted Sept 20, 2015

Matching Mole - BBC Sessions
aka - Canterbury Anthology Vol. 10
FM Source @128

Between his departure from the Soft Machine and the proper beginning of his solo career, Robert Wyatt steered Matching Mole, an outfit which bore much similarity to his later work with Soft Machine. Indeed, the name Matching Mole was chosen as a subtle pun on Soft Machine (the sound of the English words "matching mole" are very similar to the French translation of "soft machine," machine molle). However, Matching Mole didn't measure up to either his best Soft Machine work or his best solo outings. Although Wyatt occasionally let his vocal charm and humor shine, in the main Matching Mole was an outlet for the improvisational talents of the band, which often veered from inspiration into dated fusionoid noodling.

The first lineup of Matching Mole also included former Caravan member Dave Sinclair on keyboards, Phil Miller on guitar, and Bill MacCormick. Wyatt wrote most of the material on the 1972 self-titled debut. By the follow-up, Little Red Record (also 1972), Sinclair had been replaced by David MacRae, and the group had become a more democratic enterprise, with all the members contributing material more or less equally. Robert Fripp produced the second LP, and Eno guested on synthesizer on one track, though neither celebrity dramatically affected or improved the band's sound. Never destined to be a commercial enterprise, Matching Mole had folded by the end of 1972; Wyatt began his lengthy solo career, and Phil Miller went on to two other Canterbury art rock bands, Hatfield & the North and National Health.

(Fred Cole) King Bee-E.P. Not In Print (And Hell I Don't Know If It Ever Was In Print)

* I AM THE ORIGINAL POSTER

Today I am providing to you, from the darkest part of your mind, the music you will use as your soundtrack before you go out and commit mass murder. I know you've probably never heard this so let me give you a review. Think of the darkest, murkiest, scariest, part of the swamp. A place in your mind that everyone has but few tend to dwell there. The music you want playing before World War 3. The music that will help you get that scream out that you've held in for the past 3 and a half years. The lowest of lo-fi recording, vocals that remind me of Robert Plant realizing he's being buried alive. A hum in the recording that will make your friends hate you. How did you ever hear this Jobe, you might ask?...Well many, many years ago our local college station used to have a show called "Raw Guts" on this show they featured the latest in "Punk Rock" The D.J. played "Hot Pistol" one night from King Bee. I was totally floored by this. I ended up calling the D.J. and got as much info as I could (and yes fans, this was way before there was a thing called the Internet) I managed to start a correspondence with Whizeagle records in Portland, sent my 5 dollars and am proud to say one of the greatest 5 dollar investments I ever made. This is the exclusive 3 song E.P. If you love The Cramps, The Gun Club (which really doesn't have a lot to do with this recording) I think you're gonna love this. Don't take my word for it let me let a couple others explain.         MY ORIGINAL VINYL COPY

From the sellers reviews at Discogs

"The single is the only artifact King Bee left behind. The fidelity is terrible. There's a ground buzz that's as loud as the music itself. The sound is bad on the whole production run"

Or there's this

"Some noise at the beginning of play"

Songs

1. Hot Pistol

Side 2

1.Headache

2. Zip Gun

Therapy? - Live Finland 1997

 Therapy?  - Joensuu Laulurinne, Finland
Ilosaari Rock Festival
July 13, 1997

FM Source @320

Excellent concert with Therapy? from 1997. This liveconcert is just before they released their album "Semi-detached" with new drummer Graham Hopkins and additional cello/guitarist Martin McKarrick. Impressive set of songs for any Therapy?-fan, with songs from their very first albums up to unfinished versions of songs from "Semi-detached". Great version of "Tightrope Walker" with different lyrics and instrumental chorus compared to the albumversion, enjoy!

Therapy is a band from Northern Ireland. That explains a lot of things.
Although that they have a very hardcore fan basis, they never achieved to be a superband with big audiences. In their case, it was better that it never happened, as they manage to maintain their original and pure sound as their early days. Underground is still their middle name, and they became big only during years 1994-1996 with the two multi selling releases "Troublegum" and "Infernal Love". They still manage to book tour dates with major success especially in Europe, as they were never successful in the United States and the Americans dont know the band. Their first two records, Babyteeth and Pleasure Death were a mix of dark punk noise alternative rock. Following those two releases, Nurse was their third album, receiving success with their top single "Teethgrinder".
Their breakthrough album was Troublegum and after that the Infernal love and they became big and well known to greater audiences. After that and a numerous recording followed with minimum success, such as Semi-Detached,Suicide Pact-You first which were very difficult albums for someone to deal with. Leaving the A& M company, a best of compilation was released as a tribute to those productive years. Shameless is the next album that was recorded in Seattle, US. The rest of the recordings such as, High Anxiety, Never Apologise Never Explained, One Cure Fits All, and the last but not least Crooked Timber, found the band trying to reinvent and rearrange themselves either successful or unsuccessful.

But they will be always remembered as an original and true band without trying to cope with all the trends of the passing times. Funfantastic!
Cheers to this band which has offered so many personal feelings.

Late, but not too late, this very enthusiastic show, was provided by my friend Michael, who also recorded the other shows with a tape recorder from FM Radio (Multikulti) - and it's a perfect fit to what I like the most: pure crazyness Sun Ra style (Michael Ray was a long time member of the Arkestra)

Enjoy it like I did! Play Loud!

The Legendary Meters featuring the JB Horns - Moonwalker Vol. 1&2

The Legendary Meters feat. JB Horns
Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley & Pee Wee Ellis
Live at the Moonwalker, 1&2 (1991 &1993)
Soundboard recordings @ 192-256
{Out of Print}
Available for around $150

"This tour was the result of the incarceration of James Brown and the earlier breakup of the Meters. As a result this version of The Meters was sans Art or Zigaboo; they were replaced by David Torkanowsky (Astral Project) on organ and David Russell Batiste (Funky Meters) on drums. The JB's were doing a lot of touring under several different names but I've never heard the story as to who thought of this outrageously funky combination. I always said that a horn section might have put the Meters over the top and here's some proof. The pairing is epic, the New Orleans funk rhythm section playing on the back side of the beat and the JB Horns on the front side, making for a wonderful dynamic tension that serves to magnify the funk. The program mixes tunes from both groups books and it appears they were all already familiar with each others' material.
The second volume of this funky madness kicks off with one of my favorite Meters tunes "Change Reform" at the head of a five Meters song run. In the old days "Change - Reform" and "Middle of the Road" were usually the extended jam pieces in every Meters show. They do a killer "Cold Sweat" which blends into the Lee Dorsey hit "Ride Your Pony" followed by a slightly over long version of Leo's "Be My Lady". The night finishes with two Maceo tunes, the extended jam on "Southwick" being a real highlight." ~KingCakeCrypt@blogspot.com ”

note: Disc 1 is a bit under amped and the other is quite a bit louder. That's the way they came. If wished, drop both discs onto free MP3GAIN and execute 'Album Gain'.
