Three Dog Night - Live 1972

 *THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

First off I would like to take this time to thank our wonderful readers who take the time to leave a comment. Thank you Konrad Useo, Andy, Rocket, Jack Bond, heartsofstone, waitsfornoone2005 (Dave Sez) all of the Anon's who wish to remain. And now a word about Three Dog Night. Before The Carpenters, Donna Fargo (I have a smoking live show by her if you're interested) The Archies, Andy Kim, Bobby Sherman, The Partridge Family. There were these guys. They were huge at my junior/high school. They pretty much took a page outta Elvis' playbook and recorded other artist songs and made them hits. (However I don't ever remember Elvis' dick exploding as alleged by Chuck Negron's whom it is said to have happened.)  Harry Nilsson, Laura Nyro, Randy Newman, are just a few of the people who cashed in a nice paycheck thanks to The Dog. Ol' Jobe was not a big fan (but as time has gone by I like em now) But that first album had imho two great songs. The first being a song The Beatles never got around to recording "It's For You" and "Chest Fever" I think their version is better than The Band's. I guess they kinda paved the way for what has been termed "Sugar Coated Pop" But they did it better.

Songs

1. One Man Band (Not written by them)

2. Mama Told Me Not To Come (See Above)

3. It's For You (See Above)

4. Just An Old Fashion Love Song (Again Above)

5. Midnight Runaway (Nope)

6. Try A Little Tenderness (Not yet)

7. Black and White (Sorry no)

8. Eli's Coming (Wait for it............No)

9. Joy To The World ( Ah........No I'm sorry)

10. Celebrate (Well on this one they did lend one of the writers a pencil but I'm afraid no)

11. Nobody (Do I need to say anymore)

12. Chest Fever (Are you kidding me)

WELL SHE'S STONED ON THE WEED

Lou Reed - Live On Letterman - Live On The BBC

 *THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTERS

*SPECIAL THANKS TO DON GILLER

First off I was just gonna post the BBC show but it was only 4 songs long. The fifth song "Underneath The Bottle" comes from a different live show, but is such a great song I had to include it. So to supplement the short BBC show I searched and found all of Lou's appearance's on David Letterman's old show. These are taken directly from youtuber Don Giller's channel. Now before you think oh shit that was easy, my software that I use(Roxio) decided to take a dump on me. I had to uninstall/reinstall and that still gave me headaches. I know you don't give a shit, but after what I've had to do, edit, enhance and make this post presentable for you I'm gonna make you read this (well, you probably just went directly to the links and said "Screw you Jobe, I don't care") The scans for this are shit, and I know it. But after 3 days of working on this I wasn't about to waste another 4 hours of making nice, almost professionally looking covers. On a side note, it seems like lately over at the sidebar, "Blogs We Follow" many of them are putting up some of the best stuff I've never seen. And for the intelligent out there might I suggest you read "The Blog That Nobody Reads" for some very insightful thought provoking articles.  OK that's enough.

The Louvin Brothers and Special Guests Live At The Grand Ol' Opry 1961-1963

*THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

Ladies (if we have any that follow us) and gentlemen I present to you "The Doors" of country music The Louvin Brothers. Jim Morrison, in this case is played by Ira Louvin. These are some of the things Ira did. In a drunken haze called his mother a "bitch" to which Charlie (the smaller one) proceeded to beat the shit our of Ira. Ira tried to strangle his third wife with a telephone cord which earned him six bullets 4 in the back, 2 in the hand. Called Elvis a white n-word which cost them in the long run when E never recorded any of their songs. Coming onstage (drunk), told his audience "Who let all these fucking drunkards in?" When he couldn't tune his mandolin would simply destroy it on and off stage. Born into poverty in Alabama with an abusive father that beat them relentlessly but a mother who taught them about singing. I could go on talking about their album titles "Tragic Songs Of Life," "The Two Sides Of The Louvin Brothers," "Satan Is Real" which the cover designed by Ira with a statue of Satan (which the brothers built) and fire and brimstone that almost got out of hand and fried the brothers. Loved by Gram Parsons, Emmy Lou Harris, Marty Stuart and many more. The irony of Ira dying in a car crash caused by a drunk driver while Ira had a warrant out for a DWI. Charlie going to the crash site and finding Ira's mandolin, (that Ira had built) without a scratch. And many many more harrowing tales. You should look into their career. Also if you're a fan of country music and not the bullshit that goes around calling itself country music you'll love this. One more thing about the commercials on this post, my broker advised me to buy stock in "Pet Milk" (look it up) and every time you buy a can, give it a mention, or pour it from the packet I get a residual. So I figure in a couple of weeks I'll be rolling in it and I can give up this shabby hobby once and for all. See Scans

Unless you are totally unfamiliar with the artist and your looking for something new, YOU will probably seek out the information you need so why should I waste my time?
