Meltdown...

This isn't a picture of my computer but it may as well be.
I am posting this from my wife's computer that she uses for work. Wednesday June 11th my computer would not turn on. NOTHING. I was hoping it was just the power source.  No such luck. Had the computer guy down the street from me check it out. Not only is the power supply dead but there is some MELTED CIRCUITS on the board. I have been able to save $214.57 from the few generous folks that have been kind enough to donate to this blog and Voodoo Wagon. I need at least another $350 to get a new computer that won't be obsolete in 2 years. I will probably not be able to post much of anything until I can get a new computer. My wife is out of town for work a lot and she also works from home sometimes. This means I WILL NOT be able to use her computer very often. For those of you that wonder why I don't have enough of my own money to buy a new unit, I am currently disabled and am having to sue my health insurance company for disability for a valid claim that they refuse to pay. Lets just say I have a very fucked up foot from an accident with power tools...

TAD - God's Balls 1989 {Out of Print}

TAD - God's Balls
Studio Recordings @320
{Out of Print}
Produced by Jack Endino, his stripped down recording
techniques brought out the raw sound that made Tad
a beast to be feared.

Tribal drumbeats mixed with 70's heavy guitar with
Sabbath type riffs put them apart from the other emerging
Seattle bands who had a sound rooted more in blues or punk.

This is their first album which was released on Sub Pop.

Commercial sales never matched the critical acclaim and
despite later albums getting more airplay, they were always
overshadowed by those "other" bands.

Feel the heaviness...

Richard Lloyd - Stock Audio (c. 2012, 320)

Stock audio is music that has been created for use as background music for videos, films, television, etc. Lloyd has produced a set of stock music himself, and it’s not just instrumental background rumblings either, as much of this material comes in the form of structured song composition with vocals. As far as I know, none of this material has ever been on any album and seems to have first been made available in 2012, though we have no idea when it was actually recorded.

01 Want You (3:21)

TAD - Eight Way Santa 1991 {Out of Print}

TAD - Eight Way Santa
Studio Recordings @320
{Out of Print}

TAD was an American grunge band from Seattle, Washington led by Tad Doyle. Among the first of the many bands which came out of Seattle in the grunge era, Tad was notable for the fact that its music was inspired far more by '70s metal than the punk which influenced many other grunge bands. Although their commercial success was limited, their music is still highly regarded amongst grunge fans.
~More at Wiki

Where does one begin to describe how excellent this album is? Is it the earthy, soulful yelling of the lead singer? The hard-rocking music? The scary slow burn of Candi? The wonderfully haunting 3-D Witch Hunt? The humorous cinematic atmosphere of Jack Pepsi, Delinquent or Trash Truck? The superb guitar and bass playing? The thunderous drumming? The clear, punchy and solid production? Maybe it's just the whole combination and how it goes together so wonderfully.

This is one of THE best of the early-90's grunge albums. It has a bizarre, twisted sense of humor, a perfect balance between the hard rocking and the melodic and the excellent, mountainous vocals of lead singer Tad Doyle. Such a shame that this band never made it big. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates good, unpretentious, humorous, and rugged hard rock. One of the unsung classics of the grunge era.

~Ian Mark Rosen

 Tad Doyle is not someone to fuck with. The second time I saw TAD, 10 minutes into the show he warned some douche bag to stop spitting on him or the guy was going to get his ass beat. 10 seconds later all 300+ lbs. of Tad Doyle jumped off the 5 ft. high stage onto the spitter and promptly smashed the guy's face in. It was great! I meet Tad after the show. A really nice guy and we talked music for about 15 minutes, he's just not someone you want to piss off.

I LOVE this record!!!

The Fall - Live Munich, Germany 1984

The Fall - Live Munich, Germany
April 4, 1984
aka- C.R.E.E.P. Show
Soundboard @192

  Out of all the late-'70s punk and post-punk bands, none were longer lived or more prolific than the Fall. Throughout their career, the band underwent myriad lineup changes, but at the center of it all was vocalist Mark E. Smith. With his snarling, nearly incomprehensible vocals and consuming, bitter cynicism, Smith became a cult legend in indie and alternative rock. Over the course of their career, the Fall went through a number of shifts in musical style, yet the foundation of their sound was a near-cacophonous, amelodic jagged jumble of guitars, sing-speak vocals, and keyboards. During the late '70s and early '80s, the band was at their most abrasive and atonal. In 1984, Smith's American wife, Brix, joined the band as a guitarist, bringing a stronger sense of pop melody to the group. By the mid-'80s, the band's British following was large enough to result in two U.K. Top 40 hits, but in essence, the group has always been a cult band; its music was always too abrasive and dense for the mainstream. Only hardcore fans can differentiate between the Fall's many albums, yet the Fall, like many cult bands, inspired a new generation of underground bands, ranging from waves of soundalike indie rockers in the U.K. to acts in America and New Zealand, which is only one indication of the size and dedication of their small, devoted fan base.
