What's on offer today is two editions of this show. Both are from the same vinyl source of the VPRO Broadcast. This has been bootlegged for a number of years. The first is the Straight Digitized Vinyl, The Second is the so-called "Remastered" version (Denoted on the link as "RM").
I'm not sure there's that much of a difference, but I'll leave it up to better, less abused ears than mine to make a final decision on the relative merits of each.
Can't tell how much I love this "Mark" of Deep Purple.
ReplyDeleteWe had those days in the record collection of the monastry school I lived then all the records they released before "In Rock", from "Shades Of" to "Deep Purple III" (which is my personal favourite with "Lelena" or "April") ... and we all loved that ... and then came "In Rock" which blew us away. What a great period and what a blessing being 13 then and having all those wonderful bands the like of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Who, Jimi Hendrix as a soundtrack to personal evolution and - a thing younger folks maybe can't really understand - liberation from "the days of old" ("hey hey rock'n'roll, deliver us from the days of old" to quote Chuck Berry). Everything was so new and innocent then - and the future seemed so bright. Where have all this gone? We all dreamed of a better world. And what did we get? F#ckbook & a sociopatic clown ...
So thanks a lot, enoch, to remind me on those really glorious days!
