This show is digitized directly from my high-bias metal cassette that I recorded off the air. Sound quality is excellent. This is a radio "in studio" live show, recorded in front of a small audience of 20 to 30 people.  They do "Outtasite (Outta Mind)" as a country shuffle with a bit of pedal steel guitar in the background, instead of the power chord rock version that was on the single.

John Lee Hooker's show at the Wise Fools Club, Chicago, on 9 November 1976. Sourced from an FM broadcast, with a couple of audience members very audible. The performance is brilliant, with JLH fired up and full of energy, and the crowd enthusiastic. Highly reommended. --- bootlegzone.com

Adult content policy on Blogger

Starting March 23, 2015, you won't be able to publicly share images and video that are sexually explicit or show graphic nudity on Blogger. Note: We’ll still allow nudity if the content offers a substantial public benefit, for example in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts. Changes you’ll see to your existing blogs If your existing blog doesn’t have any sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video on it, you won’t notice any changes.

 If your existing blog does have sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video, your blog will be made private after March 23, 2015. No content will be deleted, but private content can only be seen by the owner or admins of the blog and the people who the owner has shared the blog with. Settings you can update for existing blogs.

If your blog was created before March 23, 2015, and contains content that violates our new policy, you have a few options for changing your blog before the new policy starts:
If you’d rather take your blog down altogether, you can export your blog as a .xml file or archive your blog's text and images using Google Takeout.

Effect on new blogs

 I don't have a problem with taking down the pictures of the girls to keep the blog up. What I have a problem with is Google's nebulous definition of "sexually explicit or graphic nude images" and them deciding  what is and isn't "graphic" or "explicit" and then torpedoing ANY BLOG they do not like.

We get almost 1,500 hits a day at this blog but no one has much of anything to say. The music we post is getting downloaded like there will be no tomorrow. I'm getting to the point of giving up. There is no satisfaction for posting to a mute audience.

My Bloody Valentine - Peel Session 1988

My Bloody Valentine - Peel Session 1988

When My Bloody Valentine walked on the stage of feedback-pop, something truly magic was finally created in the realm of psychedelia. The mini-album Ecstasy (1987) explored the ambiguity that would make their mature sound so haunting and devastating: ecstasy and terror were two faces of the same moon, and that moon shone day and night. Daydreaming and nightmare became the same state of mind as guitars enveloped naive melodies and drums smashed vocal harmonies. Isn't Anything (1988) went one step further than Jesus And Mary Chain, in that it renounced punk's violence and harked back to the most dilated forms of acid-rock. Kevin Shields' "shoegazing" guitar fullfilled Jerry Garcia's and Jimi Hendrix' galactic bliss, and helped the sweet litanies grind their way into a transcendental trance. Electronic keyboards joined guitar noise on Loveless (1991), the ultimate exploration of textures in rock music. Its stunning chaos can be viewed both as an enraptured "om" to the universe or as a deranged scream in a madman's cell or as a terrified paralysis in the face of a supernatural force. The album changed the meaning of the word "music" by proving the equivalence between "noisy" and 'symphonic", the same way that Einstein proved the equivalence between inertial and gravitational mass.

Tab Benoit - Live Stubbs BBQ
SXSW Showcase
March 12, 1997
Austin, TX.
Excellent Audience Source @flac

Tab Benoit is a Cajun man who’s definitely got the blues. Born November 17, 1967, he grew up in Houma, Louisiana. A guitar player since his teenage years, he hung out at the Blues Box, a ramshackle music club and cultural center in nearby Baton Rouge run by guitarist Tabby Thomas. Playing guitar alongside Thomas, Raful Neal, Henry Gray and other high-profile regulars at the club, Benoit learned the blues first-hand from a faculty of living blues legends.

The nightly impromptu gigs were enough to inspire Benoit to assemble his own band – a stripped down bass-and-drums unit propelled by his solid guitar skills and leathery, Cajun-spiced vocal attack. He took his show on the road in the early ‘90s and hasn’t stopped since.

Set List:
Travelin' South
Heart Of Stone
Ain't Gonna Do It
Too Many Dirty Dishes

Shake Your Moneymaker

Arzachel - self titled - 1969

Arzachel - self titled - 1969
Studio recordings @ 320
{Out of Print}

The band consisting of Steve Hillage (guitar/vocals), Dave Stewart (organ), Clive Brooks
(drums) and Mont Campbell (bass/vocals). The band produced their sole album under the
name Arzachel in June 1969.
The album Arzachel was recorded and mixed in a single session in London. The 'A' side has four songs, while the 'B' side consists of only two mind-bending psychedelic tracks, the longer of which is a 17-minute jam entitled 'Metempsychosis'. It was issued on the short-lived Evolution label (also home to the debut by Raw Material) and quickly became a collectors' item. A pirate version is thought to have circulated in the late 1970s, and it has been much bootlegged in more recent years.

Track List:
Garden of Earthly Delights" (Arzachel)
Azathoth" (Arzachel)
Queen St. Gang" (K. Mansfield)
Leg" (Arzachel)
Clean Innocent Fun" (Arzachel)
Metempsychosis" (Arzachel)

- Basil Dowling (Clive Brooks) / drums
- Njerogi Gategaka (Mont Campbell) / bass, vocals
- Sam Lee-Uff (Dave Stewart) / organ
- Simeon Sasparella (Steve Hillage) / guitar, vocals

Afroskull is greasy persuasion and bad gris-gris. A New York City funk/rock collective by way of New Orleans, the ‘Skull is a sonic gumbo that is one part Funkadelic and one part Black Sabbath with generous helpings of Zappaesque runs and jazzoid horns.  The interplay of their heady musicianship and fat bottomed grooves helps to keep les bon temps rouler all night long.

The Skatalites - From Paris with Love {Out of Print}

The Skatalites - From Paris with Love
Recorded in Paris 2001
Soundboard @320
{Out Of Print}

This album was recorded live with few overdubs at Davout Studios in Paris
in December 2001 in just 16 hours.

A return album of sorts from the Skatalites, recorded in between tour dates across Europe in December 2001. While there are only two of the original members still on the roster (Lloyd Brevett and Dizzy Johnny Moore), a number of one-time players and such have joined the band in recent years for touring purposes, and here join in for the album as well. Will Clark does a good job of mimicking Don Drummond's old trombone work while still attempting to hold a bit of his own style. The jazzier guitarist Devon James works admirably with his own sound, though it doesn't fit into the whole quite the way Jah Jerry did in the past. Other players appear and disappear as necessary, including Lloyd Knibb, the creator of the one-drop hit on drums (an important development for Jamaican music). Overall, it's a pretty good album, though there are certainly other Skatalites albums that should be heard prior to this one, such as the Ball of Fire compilation. the Skatalites were and are the premier ska band throughout Jamaican music history, and their work is what led directly into reggae proper. Despite this, though, the band begins to show its age in this album, with the replacement players acting more as tribute musicians than full members in the band. There are a couple of entirely new songs here for the true collectors, so pick it up as a completist or as a crazed fan, but not as a newcomer to the Skatalites or ska in general.

The Maü-Maü - Maü Music For Maü People - 2013

The Maü-Maü - Maü Music For Maü People - 2013
Studio Recordings @ 128

Talk about burning fast and bright in late 2012  The Maü-Maü  erupted onto the Quebec scene like an out of control lead sled rocket  and word of the band spread pretty fast .With a ton of pedigree comes high expectations  and here was a  band that more than  lived up to all the noise that has been surrounding them.In early 2013 they went into the studio to lay down their debut album,played a few killer shows ,took the summer off, packed it in  and then put out their one and only album.That said "Maü Music For Maü People" is nothing short of a pure rush.This puppy smashes in with 15 in your face tracks that for the most part don't let up .Self described as "Psycho- voodoo-garage-a-billy-deluxe" this is all that and more.Let's just say this is raw garage melding with psychobilly that makes for a rough but kool  brew.Highlights include : "Three Men One Coffin", "Red Headed Plag","Sous Les Tropiq" and "Maü Baker".

It's sad that The Maü-Maü are no longer and they really were a band that managed to impress more than a few people . "Maü Music For Maü People " is nothing short of a damn fine album  and a pretty good testament to a short lived kool band that knew how to blow the doors off the joint. The band has posted the album HERE FOR FREE!!...
