Haven't been around in a bit, as Lynyrd Skynyrd said got "Things Goin On" so that's kept me busy. But I have found the time to post something here from one of my favorite American bands. Too bad these guys have never taken off like they should. If you're a fan of say, ZZ Top, the above mentioned Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bros. Govt. Mule then this is right up your anus oops I mean alley.
A Dave Sez contribution rebooted... Back From The Dead As Requested Originally posted November 10, 2013
Back Door - A Live Decade 1976-1985
Another one from the Dave Sez music archives. Back Door were one of the most atypical prog jazz/blues groups of the early 1970s, a trio with no guitar, where bass ace Colin Hodgkinson plays lead blues bass - think Hendrix! Hodgkinson also played alongside Alexis Korner from 1969 until the latter's death in 1984. Back Door's career spanned four albums from 1973 to 1976 with sporadic performances into the mid 1980s. Hodgkinson would go on to be the regular bassist for Spencer Davis as well as playing with Cozy Powell, Jan Hammer, Whitesnake, and German blues guitarist Frank Diez (in the Electric Blues Duo). Most recently, he played with the British Blues Quintet in 2007, reformed Back Door for a CD in 2008 and played with the Jon Lord Blues Project in 2011.

Cleaning and Tracking by: Chrisedge I
was given the captured wav files to do a basic cleanup and trackout.
The only issue with the tape was a cut and flip during “Hot House.” I
removed the gaps but didn't try and cover it too much. I am on a big X
kick for their 40th Anniversary this year and this is a lively show from
1983 with some songs that don't get played much, including a great
version of “True Love (Part 2).”

Wikipedia says: The Del Fuegos were a garage-style pop band in the 1980s
with lead singer Dan Zanes, guitarist Warren Zanes (his brother),
bassist Tom Lloyd, and drummer Brent "Woody" Giessmann. The Boston-based
band was signed to a series of respected indie labels, was touted by
fans such as Tom Petty, starred in a beer commercial, and gained airplay with "Don't Run Wild" and "I Still Want You".
