When Doyle was 16 years old, he toured as
second guitarist with Jimmy Vaughan's band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Shortly thereafter he and fellow Texan, Charlie Sexton, co-founded the
rock band Arc Angels. Doyle and Charlie enlisted the rhythm section from
Stevie Ray Vaughan's backing band, Double Trouble, to complete the
lineup. The group enjoyed critical acclaim and commercial success.
Following
the release of "Jellycream," Doyle's 1999 RCA debut recording, he
received phone calls from both Roger Waters and Eric Clapton. Doyle
ended up joining Roger Waters for a summer tour while Clapton, along
with fellow blues great B.B. King, chose two of Doyle's songs - "Marry
You" and "I Wanna Be" - for their collaborative recording entitled
"Riding With The King." Upon completion of the "Riding..." project,
Doyle, his wife - Susannah Melvoin, and Clapton co-wrote and performed
"Superman Inside" for Clapton's album, "Reptile." Doyle's playing is
also heavily featured on the album.
Bramhall has earned considerable respect from a wide array of musicians for his work as a sideman and as a composer. Among artists with whom he has performed, and sometimes recorded, are his father (who passed away in 2011), Eric Clapton, C.C. Adcock, Sheryl Crow, Bettye LaVette, Lisa Marie Presley, and Susan Tedeschi. Bramhall continued to support luminaries throughout the 2000s and 2010s, returning to solo action in 2016 with Rich Man, his first album in 15 years.
Ok, if you are a long, long time fan of our sites you may remember, years ago I did a thing called "Jobe's Mystery Songs" back then I posted 3 songs by a band I couldn't find any information on. Well as of today I've found that band I couldn't identify. Did a Youtube search with what I thought was the title of one of the songs and this came up. This is what I'd been searching for for years. This ain't listed on Discogs, Amazon, AllMusic Guide. Hell it aint even on Bandcamp. I can't even find the label this is on. So any info you can provide would be appreciated. Two of the guys that are in this band (I think) are Thierry Vernhes and Jean Michel Mazella. Alright, so what does the music sound like? How about a better than average garage-bar band doing The Rolling Stones. These guys wear there influences on their sleeves. For instance the songs "Gimmie Some Hit" is "Hot Stuff" "Love You So Much" is "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" "Are You Ready" is "Till The Next Time We Say Goodby" If you are so inclined to listen to this I'll let you make the comparisons. As I recall this came out around the time "A Bigger Bang" came out. Anyway I'm glad to have finally solved the mystery, and also to finally have this album. This is much better than The Blushing Brides album. I love what their doing here. No back cover. So the songs are
1.That's Allright
2.Restless Child
3.Die For You
4.Can't Let You Go
5.Country Walk
6.Don't Put The Chill On Me
7.Gimmie Some Hit
