The Doobie Brothers - Ultrasonic Studios West Hempstead, NY 1973-05-31 WLIR FM 92.7

This is a re-post from my Rapidshare days gone bye!

Format: MP3@320
Source: FM Broadcast
Quality: 10/10

Notes: This is far and away the best sounding and most well-performed show (circulating) by the original lineup...  These performances show the band at it's peak as a "hard-rock" act. Those only familiar with the relatively tame studio versions of these songs will be surprised/shocked at volume and intensity of these live-in-studio (with small crowd) performances. WARNING: This is not soul/jazz/pop music. This has no association whatsoever with anything by Steely Dan or Michael McDonald. This is pure hard guitar rock...
This is easily the best bootleg ever made featuring the "REAL" line-up!!!

Set list:
01.South City Midnight Lady
02.Tuning
03.Clear as the Driven Snow
04.Long Train Running
05.Listen to the Music
06.China Grove
07.Rockin' Down the Highway

Bonus: Live on Midnight Special (source unknown, audio from mono TV/radio broadcast, date unknown)
13.Natural Thing

In 2009, Ronnie revealed that he had been fighting prostate cancer for the previous two years but was healthy once again. On 3 March 2012, Ronnie Montrose died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His death was originally assumed to be the result of his prostate cancer returning, however, the San Mateo County Coroner's Office released a report which confirmed the guitarist had taken his own life.

On April 27th, a tribute concert was held in Montrose's honour at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. The concert saw the original Montrose line up reform for a thrilling seven song set, with Joe Satriani standing in for Ronnie on guitar. Gamma also reconvened for the show, with Marc Bonilla filling Montrose's shoes for their set. Other luminaries appearing included members of Tesla, KISS, Night Ranger, STYX, Journey, Y & T and MR. BIG.

A portion of the evening's proceeds went to The Ronnie Montrose Fund For San Francisco Bay Area Musicians.

Atlanta Rhythm Section Live Cleveland 1975 *NOW WITH NEW LINKS

REBOOTED BY REQUEST. FIRST POSTED MAY 30th 2018

Now wait...wait before you dismiss this you really ought to give it a listen. I hear a lot of Allman's Mountain and (Unfortunately) Molly Hatchet.  However their representation is small.  I always thought these guys were as good as any of the other southern bands, and this live show cooks. But if you don't think so as someone once said enjoy..or not. See scans

Uriah Heep - San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego California February 8th,1974

Uriah Heep, live from San Diego Sports Arena, California on February 8th 1974

In February 1974, Uriah Heep were touring to consolidate on their overseas success with Look at Yourself (1971), Demons and Wizards (1972), The Magician’s Birthday (1972) and Sweet Freedom (1973) collectively impressing on their audience how their sound had evolved with hard rock and progressive elements that would influence countless bands in the years to come. The Heep's sound was not just about seductive, heavy riffing; it was about the drama and energy that they brought to their performances such as this. Their appearance in San Diego is a perfect example of those two qualities and captures the spirit of a band that defined an era, and whose legacy in heavy rock continues to endure.

Bruce Hornsby 08/27/88 Orlando Florida

Westwwod One Broadcast @ 320 - This is a re-post from my Rapidshare days gone bye!!!

Format: MP3@320
Source: FM Westwwod One Broadcast
Quality: 10/10

Hornsby was born in Williamsburg, VA, and grew up in that combination college town and tourist center, later attending the University of Miami and the Berklee School of Music. He then spent years playing in bars and sending demo tapes to record companies. In 1980, he and his brother (and songwriting partner) John Hornsby moved to Los Angeles, where they spent three years writing for 20th Century Fox. There Bruce Hornsby met Huey Lewis, who would eventually produce him and record his material. Hornsby finally signed his band, the Range, to RCA in 1985.

My notes: This is an excellent show from Bruce, who is a great piano player writer composer.
He has played with may great musicians - Hornsby was a part-time member of the Grateful Dead from September 1990 to March 1992, performing over 100 concerts in America and Europe. He appears on four Dead album releases. He has played on over 100 records over the years; including albums by Bob Dylan, Don Henley, the Grateful Dead, Bob Seger, Crosby Stills and Nash, Stevie Nicks, Cowboy Junkies, Squeeze, Liquid Jesus, Bonnie Raitt (piano on the classic “I Can’t Make You Love Me”), just to name a few. For all you Bruce Hornsby fans out there.

Track list:
01 Look Out Any Window
02 I Will Walk With You
03 Mandolin Rain
04 The Old Playground
05 The Road Not Taken
06 Wild Frontiers
07 Every Little Kiss
08 The Valley Road
09 The Way It Is
10 Defenders of the Flag
11 On The Western Skyline
