Stick-Up - Chemical Reaction (NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE)

Ok, if you are a long, long time fan of our sites you may remember, years ago I did a thing called "Jobe's Mystery Songs" back then I posted 3 songs by a band I couldn't find any information on. Well as of today I've found that band I couldn't identify. Did a Youtube search with what I thought was the title of one of the songs and this came up. This is what I'd been searching for for years. This ain't listed on Discogs, Amazon, AllMusic Guide. Hell it aint even on Bandcamp. I can't even find the label this is on. So any info you can provide would be appreciated. Two of the guys that are in this band (I think) are Thierry Vernhes and Jean Michel Mazella. Alright, so what does the music sound like? How about a better than average garage-bar band doing The Rolling Stones. These guys wear there influences on their sleeves. For instance the songs "Gimmie Some Hit" is "Hot Stuff"  "Love You So Much" is "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" "Are You Ready" is "Till The Next Time We Say Goodby"  If you are so inclined to listen to this I'll let you make the comparisons. As I recall this came out around the time "A Bigger Bang" came out. Anyway I'm glad to have finally solved the mystery, and also to finally have this album. This is much better than The Blushing Brides album. I love what their doing here. No back cover. So the songs are

1.That's Allright

2.Restless Child

3.Die For You

4.Can't Let You Go

5.Country Walk

6.Don't Put The Chill On Me

7.Gimmie Some Hit

8.Always A Blues

9.Lovers Can Dream

10.Are You Ready

11.Candles Light

12.Outside

13.Love You So Much

14.Angel Try

GIMMIE SOME SUGAR GIMMIE SOME BLOW GIMMIE SOME WINE SOMETHING TO ROLL

  1. Thank you for this. Apparently these 14 tracks are listed on Amazon Music, and that's the only material I've found for the band Stick Up, so far. It seems that Thierry Vernhes (aka the French Mick Jagger) was the singer and guitarist in a band called The Starfuckers, and Jean-Michel Mazella was bassist in a 'new country' outfit called The Hawkins. Two other musicians are Bijaya and Friends, who appear on "Candles Light".
Vernhes was also in a project called Grupo Cochabamba, that self released a 4 tracks EP entitled Musique Et Chants Des Andes. He also has a You Tube channel called Music Satisfaction (@musicsatisfaction84), which has 5 videos of solo material, from approximately 4 years ago. Hope some of this helps.

  2. One other update; other musicians on the Chemical Reaction CD are; Hervé Vernhes (drums) and Gilles Mallein (clavier - a 17th century German stringed keyboard). Apparently all songs were co-written by Vernhes and Mazella, who also shared production duties.

  3. Hello, I searched about Thierry Vernes and think that by now he is manager of a music instrument shop in Carpentras, France (https://www.pappers.fr/dirigeant/thierry_vernhes_1964-09). His shop has a Facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/MusicSatisfactionCarpentras/?locale=fr_FR
Maybe you can contact him via Facebook for more informations about is former band ?
