Because the guitars were very low in the soundboard mix and were mainly taken from the amps on stage I used more audience in my mix than I usually do. Moreover I liked the audience recording better than the soundboard recording. However mixed together they make a very nice recording.

The Jeff Healy Band Megapost - 1988 - 1993

The Jeff Healey Band
Collected In Session and In Concert, UK 1988 - 1993
FM Source @flac

Personnel on discs 1 thru 4
Jeff Healey - Guitar, Vocals
Joe Rockman - Bass
Tom Stephen - Drums

Additional personnel to the above on disc 5, believed to be
Washington Savage: Keyboards
Mische Butler: Backing Vocals
Jachintha Matthews: Backing Vocals

Original Notes
Playback lineage - Cassette playback on Technics Cassette Deck
OR
Reel(m) on Revox B77
-> Alesis Masterlink @ 96kHz, 24-bit (track & disc splits, level adjustment, fades, sample-rate conversion to 16-bit) -> CDR -> EAC to .wav -> TLH to .flac

This is Version 1.2 of my collected Jeff Healey broadcasts from the UK in 1989 - 1993. All of the above recorded direct off-air by myself.
Have included two versions of some sessions and concerts for various reasons; in the case of the sessions, they were re-broadcast on different dates, and on different shows,
and my editing at that time was a bit 'severe' and less precise than I do today; the alternative takes are included for everyone to pick and choose their preferred takes. The 1990 concert was recorded to two cassette decks simultaneously from one FM tuner - one cassette with dolby, one without, and one with tape flip, one without; again, the listener can pick whichever they prefer.

If anyone supplies additions or updates to this, depending on their scope, I'll issue another Version.

There's apparently a second 1989 session; if anyone can come up with this one to be included in version 2.....

Angel Eyes
When the Night Comes Falling from the Sky
Roadhouse Blues
Foxy Lady

On this album, the band featured a different lineup that included two teenage prodigies, the violinist Eddie Jobson (who later found fame with UK and Roxy Music) and guitarist Kirby Gregory (who subsequently joined Stretch). These tracks show Curved Air maintained their dynamic and high standard of musicianship with a brand new line up.

Al Foster Quartet - Live Village Vanguard, NY - 2008

Al Foster Quartet - Live Village Vanguard
New York, New York
May 21, 2008
FM source @320

Master percussionist Al Foster, longtime drummer for Miles Davis, brought his own quartet to New York's legendary Village Vanguard, for a performance broadcast live on air by WBGO and online at NPR Music.

To start the second night of a week-long residency at the West Village club, Foster called a mix of trusted jazz classics and savory, groove-happy originals. The quartet opened and closed with tunes penned by Foster's former employer Miles Davis, spinning a cymbal-happy take on the famous "So What" and ending with an acoustic version of "Jean Pierre," which Foster recorded with Davis live in 1981. In all, it was an affair decidedly more hard-bop-oriented than the electric funk that Foster created with Miles, but one no less full of subtly masterful performances from all hands on deck.

Raised in New York, Foster was only 19 when he made his first recording, backing trumpeter Blue Mitchell on the classic Blue Note LP The Thing To Do. Foster soon became a "first call" drummer for many of jazz's leading lights, playing with musicians like Herbie Hancock, Sonny Rollins, and Thelonious Monk.

Foster got his biggest break while playing a date at the Cellar Club on 95th Street in Manhattan. Miles Davis was in the crowd that night, and was awed enough to hire him on the spot: "[Foster] knocked me out because he had such a groove and he would just lay it right in there," Davis wrote in his autobiography. "That was the kind of thing I was looking for. Al could set it up for everybody else to play off and just keep the groove going forever." Davis would count Al Foster as his drummer for 20 years — spanning the trumpeter's wildest electric experiments — and as a friend for life.

UFO are an English rock band formed in London in 1968. They became a transitional group between early hard rock and heavy metal and the new wave of British heavy metal. The band's current lineup includes vocalist Phil Mogg, lead guitarist Vinnie Moore, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Neil Carter, bass guitarist Rob De Luca, and drummer Andy Parker. They have gone through several line-up changes, leaving Mogg as the only constant member, and had two breaks (1983–1984 and again from 1989 to 1991). The band also featured former Scorpions guitarist and Michael Schenker Group (MSG) founder Michael Schenker, who was a member of UFO from 1973 to 1978 and rejoined the band sporadically between 1993 and 2003, when Moore replaced him. In May 2018, Mogg announced that he would retire from UFO after one last tour as a member of the band in 2019;however, the band plans to resume their farewell tour in 2022. ~Wiki

I find the sound excellent, no real crowd except for the people hanging out in the studio. Enjoy!
